Our Mission
Our History
The idea for PAANY was floating around the Pakistani legal community in New York for quite some time until it finally came to fruition at the National Association of Muslim Lawyers (NAML) Conference in Chicago in October 2024, where a group of Pakistani lawyers came together to discuss the idea of establishing a formal bar association serving the needs of the Pakistani-American legal community.
What began as a discussion among peers led to the creation of a simple WhatsApp group connecting attorneys based in the Greater New York Area which rapidly increased in membership. The excitement for PAANY quickly snowballed at a Kickoff Event at Alston & Bird in January 2025 where over 60 attorneys and law students came to show support for the establishment of a formal bar association for Pakistani American lawyers and law students. Following the Kickoff Event, a working group of attorneys and law students formed and began to organize events and build the infrastructure for PAANY. The rest, as they say, is history.
